MLA Khageswar Roy car attacked in Rajganj

Jalpaiguri, January 28, 2024: A Trinamool Congress MLA's car was attacked by "someone" in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal on Sunday evening. The MLA, Khageswar Roy, was returning home after attending a party meeting in the Rajganj block Sanyasikanta in Chekarmari area. Initial estimates, the miscreants threw stones at the MLA's car, breaking the windshield. Roy was also slightly injured in the attack.

Roy said that he had gone to inspect the preparations for a rally by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Fulbari tomorrow. On his way back, he was attacked by "someone". The Trinamool Congress has blamed the attack on the opposition parties. The incident has caused widespread tension in Rajganj and the political circles. The police are investigating the matter.
